Ador Welding Leads the Way as the First Indian Supplier to meet NPCIL’s Standards

Ador Welding Ltd achieves the milestone of being the first Indian supplier to meet NPCIL’s ASME standards, reinforcing the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat visions.

As India’s leading manufacturer of welding equipment, consumables, and automation systems, Ador Welding Ltd is thrilled to celebrate a momentous milestone over four decades of partnership with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). This historic partnership has positioned us as the first Indian supplier to meet the specific technical requirements set by NPCIL for welding consumables, guided by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

NPCIL is a major nuclear powerhouse in India, that requires welding materials to meet the highest standards of accuracy and dependability. Ador Welding Ltd has risen to this challenge, surpassing expectations, meeting the acceptance criteria, and supplying materials of unparalleled quality.

The solution involved a single allotted heat, enhanced XRF analysis, and exhaustive spectrometer testing techniques to ensure consistency, homogeneity, improved weld metal performance, and longevity. Over eight weeks, cross-functional teams from both organisations worked tirelessly to ensure that every stage of the process, from procurement to manufacture and testing, adhered to the strictest regulations. This collaborative effort has reduced costs and delivery timelines, supporting NPCIL’s mission to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in their operations.

Achieving this milestone is a significant stride for Ador towards the ‘Make in India’ initiative. It contributes to the growth of indigenous manufacturing capabilities in the country and aligns with India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

Somnath Chakravarty, Head of R&D and Quality (Welding Consumables) at Ador Welding Ltd remarked, “We take immense pride in this project as it reflects our unwavering commitment to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, where we aim to empower Indian industries with world-class welding solutions. By achieving ASME’s stringent requirements, we have demonstrated our capabilities and commitment to excellence. We remain dedicated to fostering partnerships that drive innovation, and success in the nuclear power sector, and unlock new opportunities beyond.”

Ador Welding Ltd’s dedication to excellence and innovation is setting new benchmarks in the industry and driving the nation’s vision of self-reliance forward. This achievement underscores our technical competence and commitment to quality standards, making us a proud partner in India’s progress.
